It’s small (the keyboard takes a little practice) and light weight. It’s more than fast enough.
A little slow but that’s what I expected. There is nothing that impedes my usage. Windows 7 Starter is a joke and a bad one at that. You will want to upgrade to Windows Home Premium.
It is lightweight and easy to just throw into a purse or a book bag, which is extremely convenient to me as a student. The battery life is amazing, too, which is extremely helpful if I’m in a classroom where I don’t have easy access to an outlet.
Keyboard is sufficient, with quiet keys. Also you’ll need it to run, assuming u upgrade to Home Edition 7, instead of standard STARTER Version 7, so there’s another $80.
At first I thought it defied the laws of physics, but then I realized what they did, and was very smart. They took keys that aren’t used as much, such as the F keys, slightly smaller, and the regular keys are full sized, and very comfortable. We were actually pretty interested in this feature for use on a long international flight to charge a phone or MP3 player. This, along with the color options, is what differentiated this product from the very similar Asus et al. Battery life is around 8 hours with Wi-Fi off. With Wi-Fi on, I get about 6-7 hours of battery while browsing the web and listening to music. I really like Toshiba’s customer service. This netbook is great.
The first was for my wife, this one is for me, to replace a three year old netbook. Installation was much faster on this one, and I have activated two fingered scrolling on the touchpad. I purchased it over others due to the ergonomics and keyboard design and am not disappointed. Even the Office Starter program and Windows 7 Starter have proved to be adequate for my needs and I have not had to upgrade. It’s advertised mainly as a communication device for Web browsing, email and Skype but I’ve already put it through some serious software and graphics loads without a hiccup. I wasn’t planning on using it for heavy-duty PC-like applications but it looks like it will be able to handle anything I dish out without objection. The packaging is easy to wipe clean and keep looking new. The cord is super long so it’s easy to keep it plugged in and watch movies in bed or use it a long distance from the plug.
I wanted to buy the brown netbook but the orange was a lot cheaper. A few days later, the prices switched and they keep switching. The keyboard and track pad are great for a netbook so no problems there. Overall I give it a 5 star rating.
At this point this machine is starting to be fun. Pool Landscaping Ideas.
